Even though we don't study psychodynamics in IB Psych, it's useful to know a bit about it for how we now understand therapeutic relations between patient/clinician. Psychology is a big puzzle that comes together in really neat ways. |

Psychology and Social MediaHow do you capture what is 'real'? Through your memory? By a photo you share? If others remember the moment? Watch this short talk about how our use of social media is changing what we define as 'real'. This is an area of great interest for some psychological researchers.
Much research attention is also on mental health as psychologists explore how the use of social media may be affecting mental health. It's tough to study this in a very controlled way especially because humans value and use the internet in different ways. Sherry Turkle, a researcher and psychologist from MIT explores the value of conversation and how feeling connected matters to how we behave and function. |
